EM-Energy and the environment, page 31
There are three factors of using the different energy sources. They are economic, social and environmental factors.
Economic factors: The influential economic factors include investment, maintenance cost, energy cost, income and rate of return on investment. The influential environmental factors include global impact (greenhouse gases), regional pollution and health.
Social factors: The choice of energy sources that a nation or society uses is very much dependent upon several factors. These include available energy resources, population size, historical energy use, needs of industry, available technology and political direction.
Environmental factors: Many natural or physical factors can control whether we can supply energy. These include the geology of regions, what the climate is like and how favourable the environmental conditions are.
