Force - Force is basically a push or a pull
Newton - Newton is the unit of measurement of force, newton can move a object of 1 kilogram in the speed of 1 meter per second
Example Of Newton - You lift an apple. The force needed to lift an apple is around 1 newton
Types Of Force
The 4 types of forces are contact force, friction, air resistance and up-thrust
Friction
Friction is a opposite force given back to a movement, friction is basically a force reacted to a given motion
Friction usually occurs in rough surfaces and does not occur in slippery surfaces
Air Resistance
Air resistance is force given air to oppose gravitational force
Air resistance occurs when a bunch of air particles gets gathered in a place were they cannot escape that area and oppose the gravitational force
Up-Thrust
Up-thrust is a force given by water, when objects are present in fluids through the buoyancy force the objects start to float
Buoyancy force is a force given by a fluid to make the objects float
Object less dense than water do not float
Objects more dense than water float
Contact Force
Contact force is a force given by the surface to avoid the effect of gravitational force
It goes against the weight of your body
1. A paper airplane thrown into the air eventually slows down and falls. Describe the role of air resistance and gravity in this process.
2. If you lift an object with a force of 2 newtons, explain what this tells you about the object's mass or the gravitational force acting on it.
3. A boat is floating on water. Explain how up-thrust is keeping the boat afloat and what would happen if the boat’s density increased due to adding weight.
4.Imagine a book resting on a table. Describe how contact force and gravitational force interact to keep the book in place without falling.
5. Consider two identical objects: one floats in water, and the other sinks. Based on the concepts of up-thrust and density, explain why this happens.
6. How would reducing air resistance affect objects falling on Earth? What differences would you expect if there were no air resistance, as on the Moon?
