Chapter- Thermal energy
What it is
Heat is basically, thermal energy transferred between two systems at different temperatures that come in contact.
In the terms of thermodynamics,it is the measure of (Thermal)energy transfer from objects with 2 different temperature, for example , a hot cup of coffee with 2 ice cubes, has more heat than an boiling coffee, because the (Thermal)energy transfer between a ice cube and hot coffee, has objects with 2 different temperatures.
About
Relation between temperature
Heat and thermal energy are the same thing.
Well when the atoms vibrate faster, the heat will increase.
Conduction, convection and radiation.
Yes it does, sound is basically vibration, and vibration causes heat.
Microwaves cause water molecules in food to vibrate, producing heat that cooks the food.
As heat is thermal energy, or flow of thermal energy, it is still energy, which means the si unit is joules
Becasue it is a form of energy, that can move from one object to another.
What type of heat is thermal energy?
What causes heat to rise?
What are the three methods of transferring heat?
Can sound waves generate heat?
How does a microwave oven heat up food even though it emits no thermal radiation?
SI unit of heat?
If the term heat describes a transfer of thermal energy ,why do people say heat is transferred?
