Introduction
Glycolysis is the First step in Metabolic Reaction.
Glycolysis, which literally means “breakdown of sugar," is a catabolic process in which six-carbon sugars (hexoses) are oxidized and broken down into pyruvate molecules.
Phases
There are two phases of Glycolysis:
- the "priming phase" because it requires an input of energy in the form of 2 ATPs per glucose molecule.
- the "pay off phase" because energy is released in the form of 4 ATPs, 2 per glyceraldehyde molecule.
It would be nice if you could explain how exactly glucose turns to atp in a deep understandable way, although it is understandable a little more explanation can be much more effective. or you can just explain it to me personally.
