Buried clay pot irrigation uses buried, unglazed, porous clay pots filled with water to provide controlled irrigation to plants.
Porous pot system advantages:
Its very simple nothing can go wrong.
Easy to check the amount of water provided to the soil.
Little surface evaporation because the water released into the soil.
Porous pot system disadvantages:
Only suitable for larger plants.
Large labour cost{burying pots, checking water levels and topping up manually}.
Difficulty in cleaning.
