Prokaryotic Cells - Definition
They are the simplest of cells, existing in bacteria and archaea.
They are a bit big, they have a size within 1 to 10 micrometers
Structure Of Prokaryotic Cells

Capsule ( Glycocalyx )
A sticky layer made of polysaccharides or polypeptides, surrounding some prokaryotic cells.
They have a protection against desiccation and immune responses
Cell Wall
A rigid, protective layer that surrounds the plasma membrane
It provides structural support and shape to the cell.
Plasma Membrane
flexible barrier that encloses the cell. It regulates what enters and exits, maintaining the internal environment.
Its semi-permeable nature ensures that essential nutrients enter, while waste products are excreted.
Cytoplasm
The semi-fluid substance that fills the cell, surrounding all internal structures.
It is where the vital biochemical reactions occur, and the necessary molecules float
Ribosomes
These are the sites of protein synthesis, floating freely in the cytoplasm.
